Psychotherapy treatment involves listening and talking, and understanding
the relationship between the people involved.
Each psychotherapy session provides the opportunity to find space to
tell your story, and be listened to. The important part of this is establishing
a healing relationship with the therapist or the therapist and other
members of a group.
Psychotherapy is more technically
defined
as an interpersonal,
relational intervention used by trained psychotherapists to aid clients
in problems of living. This usually includes increasing individual sense
of well-being and reducing subjective discomforting experience. Psychotherapists
employ a range of techniques based on experiential relationship building,
dialogue, communication and behavior change and that are designed to
improve the mental health of a client or patient, or to improve group
relationships (such as in a family).
Psychotherapists generally have
a long and intensive training. All of our practitioners have had
extensive experience of applying personal therapy. They will sometimes
need to see clients more than once weekly.
